Bogus EAMC doctor nabbed for theft

MANILA, Philippines — A woman allegedly posing as a doctor was arrested after she stole cash and personal belongings of physicians at the East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC) in Que-zon City on Wednesday.

Miriam May Infante, 37, is facing complaints for theft and usurpation of authority.

According to probers, Infante went to the EAMC’s emergency room and wore a doctor’s coat and identification card.

The suspect then took two wallets, which contained P660, a computer laptop, two cell phone cords, a cell phone charger, a medicine bag and other personal belongings of three doctors.

Infante was about to escape when a security officer verified her identity.

The officer took the suspect into custody after he found out that Infante used an identification card of a doctor on duty.

Infante was turned over to police for investigation.
