MANILA, Philippines — A woman was arrested after she stabbed her husband who berated her for drinking with her friends in Quezon City on Tuesday morning.

Marivic Tajanlangit, 35, is being held at the Novaliches police station on charges of frustrated murder for stabbing her spouse, Ryan Tajanlangit, 34, at their house in Barangay Sta. Monica at around 9:30 a.m.

Quezon City police chief Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III said Ryan, who works as a call center agent, had just arrived home from work when he saw Tajanlangit and her friends binge drinking.

Irked that his wife was drinking early in the day, Ryan berated her and told her to stop drinking.

After Tajanlangit’s friends left, the couple had a heated argument.

During their verbal altercation, Tajanlangit grabbed a pair of scissors measuring about seven inches and stabbed the victim in the neck.

The victim sought help from their neighbors who brought him to the Commonwealth General Hospital for treatment.

Police responded to the scene and arrested Tajanlangit.

Torre said the couple has been married for five years and has three children.

Meanwhile, three persons were injured after a man armed with a katana, a Japanese sword, attacked them in Barangay San Bartolome on Tuesday.

Marites, Jonas and Froilan, all surnamed Macasogot, were walking along Magsaysay Extension when the suspect, Rodrigo Erado, attacked the victims.

Bystanders rushed the victims to the Novaliches District Hospital.

Police said they have launched a manhunt for Erago.

Investigators said they are looking into a personal grudge as Erago’s motive for the attack.
