Girl, 7, raped, killed

ILOILO CITY, Philippines — A seven-year-old girl believed to be a victim of rape was found dead in Estancia, Iloilo on Monday.

Police said the victim was found naked from the waist down in a fenced area of a telecommunications tower in Barangay Gogo, around 100 meters away from her house.

S/Sgt. Dan Jerald Allanic, Estancia police investigator, said the victim’s pair of short pants was found a few meters from where her body was found.

“We’re considering the possibility that she was raped based on the physical evidence,” Allanic said.

He said the girl may have been hit with a hard object, citing the wound in her head and hematoma in her left eye.

The victim was last seen when she left her house to buy bread after asking P5 from her parents.
