PNP execs inspect Bulacan fireworks factories, stores
BOCAUE, Bulacan, Philippines — Officials of the police Civil Security Group (CSG) and Firearms and Explosive Office inspected fireworks factories and stores in Bulacan on Tuesday.
The group inspected a fireworks factory in San Rafael and stores in this town, dubbed as the fireworks capital of the Philippines.
CSG chief Maj. Gen. Eden Ugale said the fireworks factories and stores they visited in Bulacan are compliant with the provisions of Republic Act 7183 or the Act Regulating the Sale, Manufacture, Distribution and Use of Firecrackers and other Pyrotechnic Devices.
Lt. Col. Ronie Pascua, Bocaue police chief, said there are 61 licensed fireworks stores and six legitimate fireworks factories in the town.
Pascua said police personnel would continue to inspect fireworks stores and factories in preparation for the Chrismas and New Year celebrations.
Previous inspections conducted by the Department of Trade and Industry showed that several fireworks manufacturers were not compliant with the DTI standards.
