Rainy in most parts of Philippines due to ITCZ

Romina Cabrera - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will continue to bring rain over many parts of the country today, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

The ITCZ is forecast to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over Metro Manila, Aurora, Calabarzon, Bicol, Mimaropa, parts of the Visayas and Mindanao.

PAGASA warned the public of flashfloods and landslides during heavy rain.

The rest of the country will experience isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms.

The state weather bureau said the low-pressure area that it was monitoring off the coast of Southern Mindanao dissipated at around 2 p.m. yesterday.

Temperatures in Metro Manila will range between 24 to 31 degrees Celsius.
