Batangas cockpit operator slain

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — A cockpit operator was killed in a gun attack in Tanauan, Batangas on Thursday night.

Joselito de Chavez, 47, was driving home in his Nissan Navara when he was shot in Barangay Natatas, city police chief Lt. Col. Karlos Pablo Lanuza said, citing initial investigation.

Probers are looking into a love angle, work-related or a loan shark issue as the motive for the killing.

Lanuza said there are three persons of interest in the case.

“We are conducting backtracking and reviewing three video footages of closed-circuit television cameras installed near the crime scene,” he said.
