Owner of Ferrari in EDSA lane fined
MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) yesterday penalized the registered owner of a red Ferrari sports car caught on camera traversing a lane on EDSA for the exclusive use of city buses and marked emergency, government and law enforcement vehicles.
Trang Thu Nguyen was fined P1,000 and his driver’s license was suspended for 90 days, according to the LTO’s Intelligence and Investigation Division (IID).
The foreigner’s car, a red Ferrari F8 Tributo with plate number NEM-8999, would also be tagged for alarm until he identifies the person driving at the time of the incident, the LTO said.
Nguyen would not be able to renew the registration of the vehicle until the driver appears before the IID.
The Ferrari was caught entering the EDSA Bus Carousel. It was unclear if Nguyen drove the vehicle.
The LTO summoned the registered owner on Oct. 20, but he did not show up.
