COTABATO CITY, Philippines — A government nurse was gunned down in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte before dawn yesterday.
Nelson Mantawil of the Dinaig District Hospital was declared dead on arrival at the Cotabato City Regional Medical Center, Brig Gen. John Guyguyon, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao police director, said.
Reports reaching Guyguyon’s office identified the suspect as a certain Bots Nur.
Prior to the shooting, witnesses said Mantawil and Nur had an argument.
The suspect escaped.
