Man gunned down by ex-cop pa

CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Philippines — A retired policeman allegedly shot dead his 26-year-old son at their residence in Barangay Narra in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan early Monday.

Reports reaching Col. Relly Arnedo, acting Bulacan police director, identified the suspect as Enrique Galapate, 62.

Initial investigation showed that Arnedo and Erickson, a security guard, were having a drinking session that lasted up to 3:20 a.m. when they had a heated argument after the suspect accused his son of being a thief.

Galapate allegedly shot Erickson in the head twice.

Investigators recovered two bullet shells, a 9 mm pistol with Philippine National Police markings and defaced serial number and a magazine with 12 bullets at the scene.
