Gerry Lee Gorit - The Philippine Star

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines — Rescuers recovered on Thursday the body of a man who is among the victims of a landslide in Malitbog, Bukidnon.

The recovery brings to three the bodies found since search and rescue operations started on Sunday.

Five persons were buried when a big portion of the mountain slope in Barangay San Luis eroded following a heavy downpour.

Mayor Gary Casiño said the body of Angelita Lauronal was recovered on Wednesday. Lauronal and her husband Lucresio were resting in their house when the landslide occurred.

The three other victims are municipal government workers who were clearing a road hit by a previous landslide.

Casiño said the body of one of the workers, dump truck helper Jordan Achas, was recovered on Tuesday.

The other victims are dump truck driver Raffy Simprota, 34, and backhoe operator Nerio Talines, 50.
