Makati shuts down 3 illegal firms

MANILA, Philippines — Three companies in Makati were shut down by the city government yesterday for operating illegally.

The city’s business permits and licensing office served closure orders on the Philippine Seven Corp.-Filmore in Barangay Palanan, as well as Torque Commercial Enterprise and XYM Corp., both located in Barangay Pio del Pilar.

The local government said the companies were shut down for operating without business permits.

Mayor Abby Binay has ordered a crackdown on businesses operating illegally in Makati.

Binay’s directive seeks to protect legitimate businesses and the public.
