Cop’s son, 1, dies in gun accident

CABANATUAN CITY, Philippines — A one-year old son of a policeman died when the service firearm of his father accidentally fired in San Jose, Nueva Ecija on Thursday.

Reports reaching Col. Richard Caballero, acting Nueva Ecija police director, said Pat. Crisdie Manuel of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company had just arrived home when his gun fell and accidentally fired, hitting his son in the chest.

The boy was  declared dead on arrival at the San Jose City General Hospital in Barangay Malasin.
