MANILA, Philippines — Police apprehended 26 people, including 10 security guards, who allegedly illegally occupied a warehouse of a food manufacturing company in Quezon City on Monday.
Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III, director of the Quezon City Police District, said charges of grave coercion and trespassing would be filed against the suspects.
Torre said they would also file an administrative complaint with the Philippine National Police Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies against Performwell Security Agency Inc. after investigation revealed that 10 of the suspects are its employees.
“We will not tolerate illegal occupants in private properties,” he said.
Police conducted the operation after a representative of the food company complained that a group of men occupied their warehouse in Barangay Greater Fairview without legal authority.
Seized from the suspects were six shotguns, 16 rounds of ammunition, security logbooks, uniforms and other personal belongings.
