CAMP OLIVAS, PAMPANGA, Philippines — A suspected dog meat trader was arrested in Nueva Ecija yesterday.
Ruel Bote, a resident of Purok Kahel, Barangay Concepcion in Gen. Tinio, was caught with five sickly dogs, according to reports reaching Central Luzon police director Brig. Gen.Cesar Pasiwen.
Bote was driving a motorcycle with a sidecar locally known as kolong-kolong when he was pulled over at a checkpoint in Barangay Sinasajan in Peñaranda.
The suspect is facing charges for violation of the Animal Welfare Act.
