Toddler drowns in Bulacan canal

MALOLOS, Philippines — A two-year old girl drowned in an irrigation canal in Bustos, Bulacan on Saturday afternoon.

The girl was declared dead on arrival at the Bustos Community Hospital, where she was rushed by members of a local rescue team, Col. Relly Arnedo, acting Bulacan police director, said.

Investigation showed that relatives discovered the girl missing at around 4 p.m. They immediately suspected that she fell into the canal located near their house in Barangay Bonga Mayor.
