Village exec slain in Quezon attack

CATANAUAN, Quezon, Philippines — A barangay councilman in this town was shot dead by an unidentified assailant on Saturday night.

Ramil Advincula died at the scene due to three gunshot wounds. He was tending his shop in Barangay Ajos when he was killed at around 6:30 p.m.

The assailant, who arrived in a motorcycle, posed as a buyer before drawing his gun.

Advincula’s daughter Lyra reported the incident to authorities.

Probers have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
