MALOLOS, Philippines —  Two persons who posed as policemen were arrested in this city on Tuesday night for robbing a motorist.

According to reports reaching acting Bulacan police director Col. Charlie Cabradilla, Regie Garcia, a factory worker, and shoe repairman Angelo Asistin flagged down a motorist and confiscated his license for a supposed traffic violation.

The suspects reportedly asked the victim to follow them to the police station, but declared a holdup and took his money and personal belongings upon reaching a dark area.

The suspects were apprehended in a follow-up operation in Barangay San Juan.

Police said a cell phone and a wallet containing identification cards, ATM card and P7,000 in cash were recovered from the suspects. – Emmanuel Tupas
