P5 million Ecstasy tablets seized in Cebu
MANILA, Philippines — A man was arrested after accepting a parcel, which contained 2,984 tablets of party drug Ecstasy worth P5.07 million, during a controlled delivery operation in Cebu City on Monday.
Lunel Paden was apprehended by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Barangay Pasil at around 3 p.m., the PDEA-Central Visayas field office said in a report.
The package, which originated from the Netherlands, was misdeclared as women’s clothing.
The PDEA said the package was intercepted at the Central Mail Exchange Center in Pasay City last June 10.
Also in Cebu City, around 100 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P680,000 were confiscated from Elmer Camia, 37, in Barangay Kalunasan at around 4 p.m. on the same day.
City police director Col. Ernesto Salvador Tagle said Camia is on the list of most wanted drug traffickers in Central Visayas.
In Pampanga, Anthony Quiazon and Cecile de la Cruz yielded shabu worth P646,000 in a sting in Barangay Duquit in Mabalacat City early yesterday, according to Lt. Col. Protom Guevarra, acting city police chief. – Ramon Efren Lazaro, Robertzon Ramirez
