Laborer electrocuted

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, Philippines — A construction worker died while his companion was injured after they accidentally touched a power cable in this town on Saturday.

Reynald Sanchez, 25, was declared dead on arrival at the Lingayen District Hospital, while his friend, Mark Lester Francisco, 16, was rushed to the nearby Nazarene Hospital for treatment.

The victims were building a concrete barrier in Barangay Maniboc when an iron bar being carried by Francisco touched the power cable.

Francisco tried to pull Sanchez away, but he was also electrocuted.
