1 dies as truck falls off bridge in Pangasinan

BINALONAN, Pangasinan, Philippines — A man died while nine others were injured when a pickup fell off a bridge that was undergoing repair in this town on Sunday night.

Rodrigo Merin, 51, was declared dead on arrival at the Urdaneta District Hospital where he was rushed for treatment on injuries along with nine other passengers.

Reports said the truck was approaching the Primicias Bridge in Barangay Poblacion at around 9 p.m. when it hit a metal barricade that served as an early warning device.

This collision reportedly caused the driver to lose control of the wheel and the truck to roll off the bridge.
