2 die in Butuan road mishap
BUTUAN, Philippines — Two persons died and 15 others were injured when a cargo truck collided with a multicab along the highway at the boundary of Buenavista town in Agusan del Norte and this city the other day.
Police said Alegi Bawiga, 21, the driver of the multicab, and Irish Salva, 45, one of his passengers died at the scene.
The driver of the cargo truck, Glenn Vicente, a nine-year-old boy and his two-week-old brother suffered serious injuries and remain confined in the intensive care unit of a hospital.
Initial investigation showed the cargo truck was avoiding a motorcycle when the collision occurred.
In North Cotabato, Nio Tanuman and a certain Buboy died when their motorcycle fell into an irrigation dike in M’lang town on Thursday.
The two, who were on their way home from a party, were believed to be drunk.
