Girl, 7, hit by bus at Manila terminal
MANILA, Philippines — A seven-year-old girl was killed when a bus ran over her near its terminal in Manila on Thursday night.
Asia Mae dela Cruz died at the scene, according to the Manila Police District.
Dela Cruz was reportedly playing hide and seek at the Philippine Rabbit terminal along Oroquieta street in Sta. Cruz.
A bus with plate number ABG-9202 was parked in the terminal where the girl was playing, the MPD noted.
The vehicle “started to move forward,” with its rear left wheel hitting the girl.
The bus driver, identified as Eljecar Sumalpong Gumangcam, 42, was allegedly steering the bus at the time. He is under police custody and faces charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
