3,700 Las Piñas HCWs qualified for boosters

Emmanuel Tupas - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — At least 3,700 healthcare workers (HCWs) in Las Piñas are qualified to receive COVID-19 booster shots, Mayor Imelda Aguilar said yesterday.

Aguilar said the city government will start administering booster shots to the city’s medical frontliners today.

The local chief executive said the rollout of Pfizer and Moderna booster shots will be held at hospitals and shopping malls approved by the Department of
Health.

Aguilar said eligible medical workers are those who are scheduled to receive their booster shots this weekend and those
who received their second dose of COVID-19 vaccine at least six months ago.

Meanwhile, Vice Mayor April Aguilar directed the city health office to always be ready and prepared while waiting for guidelines from the DOH on the vaccination rollout for senior citizens and adults with comorbidities.

She also directed the vaccination team to work double-time in convincing city residents of the importance of being fully vaccinated
against the virus.
