Baste Duterte gets COVID-19

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — President Duterte’s son and Vice Mayor Sebastian Duterte, also known as Baste, has tested positive for COVID-19.

Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio confirmed on Facebook yesterday that the President, their mother Elizabeth Zimmerman and her brother Rep. Paolo Duterte had to contend with  video calls to check on each other since they learned that the vice mayor contracted the virus.

The vice mayor did not attend the Sangguniang Panglungsod session yesterday.

“Get well soon Vice! Smile,” Carpio said in her post.

She said the President, who will be in the city until he flies to Manila for his State of the Nation Address on Monday, joined the family video call yesterday.
