MANILA, Philippines — Mild earthquakes rocked Surigao del Norte on Sunday, but these did not cause any injury or damage to property, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
Phivolcs said a magnitude-4.5 earthquake occurred 42 kilometers northeast of Burgos town at 8:51 a.m
The quake was felt at Intensity 3 in Burgos.
Intensity 2 was felt in General Luna, Socorro and Santa Monica, all in Surigao del Norte, and in San Francisco and San Ricardo, both in Southern Leyte.
Earlier in the day, a magnitude-3.4 temblor occurred 31 km northeast of Burgos.
The temblor was felt at Intensity 2 in Del Carmen, Surigao del Norte.
Phivolcs said a magnitude-4.2 quake also struck seven km southwest of Burgos at 12:52 p.m.
It was registered at Instrumental Intensity 1 in Surigao City.
No damage or aftershocks were expected from the quakes.
