Man stabs dead 2 daughters

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines — A man stabbed to death his two daughters, aged nine and eight, in Barangay Western Poblacion, Baras, Catanduanes before midnight yesterday.

Town police chief Capt. Mark Barlis said the mother of the victims, who is working in Qatar, sought police assistance after seeing her husband trying to slash his wrist during a video call.

Barlis said a team he dispatched to the house of the victims found the bloodied bodies of the two girls.

The suspect was shot in his leg when he attacked the responding policemen with a knife.

Initial investigation showed the suspect and his wife had an argument during their video call.
