Mocha Uson distributes financial aid to OFWs
ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) deputy administrators Mocha Uson and Bubsie Sabarez have been going around the country to distribute livelihood assistance to overseas Filipino workers under the Balik Pinas Balik Hanapbuhay Program, Project Alalay Para sa mga Anak OFWs sa Panahon ng Pandemya.
“We have received a call from Malacañang stating that President Duterte wishes to expedite the delivery of assistance to our OFWs,” Uson said.
After a courtesy call on Mayor Jerry Treñas, Uson facilitated the award of P20,000 in financial assistance to 50 OFW family- beneficiaries in this city.
She also led the award of OWWA education and livelihood assistance programs to OFWs in Aklan, Capiz and Negros island.
“Ang mga OFWs ay nananatiling ating mga bagong bayani... Layunin ng mga assistance packages na ito na mabigyan sila ng karampatang tulong upang makaraos at tumayong matatag para sa kanilang mga pamilya habang nasa gitna pa tayo ng pandemya,” she said.
