Truck hits car in Laguna; 2 dead

LAGUNA, Philippines — Two persons died when a truck collided with a car along the highway in Barangay Macabing, Sta. Rosa City before dawn yesterday.

Joshua James Olivares, 24, driver of a Hyundai Accent and his passenger Alyza Mae Salud, 22, were declared dead on arrival in a hospital.

The driver of the truck, Alvin Huerno, 33, was unhurt.

Maj. Mary Ann Torres, Calabarzon police spokesperson, said the car was overtaking a tricycle when it collided with the truck in the opposite lane.
