MANILA, Philippines — The families of two murdered teenagers in Tondo, Manila are seeking justice.

The bodies of Chormel Buenaflor and Carl Banogon, both 15, wrapped in packaging tape and riddled with stab wounds, were found floating in Manila Bay off the breakwaters of Isla Puting Bato.

Carl’s body was found on Feb. 2 and Chormel the following day, according to a report by the Manila Police District (MPD).

A smiley face was etched on Chormel’s body, his family said.

Chormel’s father, who was interviewed on GMA News anonymously, said his son was treated “like a blackboard” by the “devils” who killed him. The father said that before Chormel went missing last Jan. 31, his son hugged him and told him he may not return home alive.

Chormel’s sister, Catherine Visda, yesterday said her brother and Carl were close friends.

The STAR is still reaching out to Carl’s family for their comment.

MPD homicide chief Capt. Henry Navarro said the murders may be related to a gang war. Police alleged that Chormel was a member of the Batang City Jail. Carl was reportedly involved in thefts, according to barangay officers.
