QCPD gives free rides to commuters

Emmanuel Tupas - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) is providing free rides to commuters in the city during the Yuletide season.

QCPD director Brig. Gen. Danilo Macerin said six vans would shuttle commuters from SM North EDSA to UP Diliman, NIA Road, Luzon Avenue and Quezon City hall from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. during the holidays.

Macerin said the program is in partnership with the Special Operation Network and Rescue (SONAR) and the SM North management.

Each van will only accommodate eight passengers, in compliance with the 50 percent capacity for public transportation set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

Macerin lauded SONAR and SM for the free rides.
