MANILA, Philippines — Caloocan Mayor Oscar Malapitan yesterday announced that 106 out of the city’s 188 barangays have been declared COVID-19-free by the local health department.
He said the rest still have active cases but the city has recorded at least 10,990 recoveries.
Malapitan thanked residents for their understanding and patience as the city continues to tighten its security and efforts to fight the pandemic.
He urged his constituents to continue to observe health and safety protocols even as the city is slowly gaining ground in the effort to normalize the business climate.
“We are not yet done in our fight against COVID-19. Just remember that a healthy community will produce a positive economic effect,” he said.
