TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines — A former councilor of Calbayog City in Samar and his companion were gunned down on Friday.
Jessie Jackson and 20-year-old Erika Ygrubay were on a motorcycle when they were waylaid by two men on another motorbike along the highway in Barangay Cagnipa.
Police said the victims suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
A manhunt for the assailants is underway.
