DAGUPAN, Philippines — Archbishop Socrates Villegas of Lingayen-Dagupan has declared 21 days of prayer for national healing in his archdiocese.
Villegas said the 21 days of consecration to the Virgin Mary starts today and will end on the Memorial of the Dedication of the Basilica of St. Mayor Major on Aug. 5.
“We are in a state of rebellion against God and we are seeing the consequences of our sin. We must repent. We must be consecrated again if we wish to be healed,” he said.
”We turn to prayer. We turn to the matter of God. We are never helpless if we cling to the Virgin Mother,” Villegas added.
The act of consecration and prayer will be prayed in all masses.
Villegas urged parish priests to encourage the faithful to do the same in their houses after the family rosary. Eva Visperas
