Cotabato City exec shot dead

COTABATO CITY, Philippines  – The secretary to the mayor of this city was shot dead by unidentified assailants on Monday.

Aniceto Rasalan, secretary to Mayor Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi, was declared dead on arrival at the Cotabato Regional Medical Center from gunshots to the head.

Probers said the victim was in an eatery along Notre Dame Avenue when the assailant shot him at close range.

Four years ago, Rasalan was seriously wounded in an ambush by unidentified men in this city.

Police have yet to determine if the murder is related to the previous attempt on his life.
