Fake NBI agent arrested in Bulacan

MALOLOS, Philippines  – A man who posed as an agent of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) was arrested in Meycauayan City on Friday.

Col. Lawrence Cajipe, Bulacan police director, said Jeffrey Acero was apprehended in Barangay Saluysoy, after his partner sought assistance from barangay officials, claiming she was abused by the suspect.

When cornered, Acero introduced himself as a lawyer and an NBI agent.

Police said a 9mm with an expired license, four magazines, ammunition and various NBI cards with different names were recovered from the suspect.
