Anti-communist shot dead

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines  – A leader of a group opposing the communist movement was shot dead by an unidentified assailant in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental yesterday.

Vivencio Aguilar, president of KADRE, was in a tricycle when he was killed in Barangay 2, according to Maj. Mark Angelo Junco, officer-in-charge of the San Carlos City police.

Aguilar died at the scene due to a  gunshot to the head.

The assailant fled in a waiting motorcycle.

Police have yet to determine the motive for the killing of Aguilar, who was reportedly a police informer.
