Woman, 74, slain in Parañaque home

MANILA, Philippines — A 74-year-old widow was found dead in her house in Marcelo Green Village, Parañaque City on Thursday night.

Sonia Moral’s body bore at least 30 stab wounds, police said. A neighbor notified authorities when the victim failed to respond to her calls.

Police said pieces of costume jewelry were scattered around the house but no murder weapon was found so far.

Probers said they are interviewing witnesses and checking closed-circuit television footage to determine the identity of the killers.
