Korean dies in road mishap

CAVITE , Philippines — A South Korean died after he was hit by a car in Silang, Cavite on Friday night, police reported yesterday.

Kwang Soo Kim, 59, was crossing the highway in Barangay Lalaan 1st when he was hit by a Honda sedan at around 9:55 p.m.

Bystanders brought the victim to the Estrella Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

Driver Francisco Paul Lacay, 48, surrendered to responding police officers.

Lacay said he was headed to Tagaytay from Dasmariñas when he hit the victim.

Police said charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide would be filed against Lacay.
