MANILA, Philippines — At least 300 families lost their homes when a fire broke out in Parañaque City on Thursday.

The fire hit El Dorado Dulo in Barangay Don Bosco just before 4 p.m. and reached fifth alarm in less than 30 minutes and Task Force Alpha within an hour after it started, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

The fire destroyed 70 houses and caused P1 million in damages before it was put out at around 7 p.m., the BFP said.

Michael Guliman, 44, suffered from smoke inhalation while Mabelle Duterte, 17, sustained first-degree burns on her right hand.
