MANILA, Philippines — The Pasay City government has padlocked five establishments for allegedly dumping waste in waterways leading to Manila Bay and Laguna de Bay.
Mayor Emi Calixto Rubiano, Laguna Lake Development Authority general manager Jaime Media and officials of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources served notices of closure on four restaurants and an auto shop located at the HK Sun Plaza.
Officials said the establishments were found dumping toxic wastes to Manila Bay, Rubiano said.
President Duterte has ordered the closure of establishments polluting the bay.
