Aurora Boulevard closed for a week

Marc Jayson Cayabyab - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — A portion of Aurora Boulevard in Cubao will be closed to traffic for a week starting tomorrow for the replacement of Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2)’s elevator units.

A section of the boulevard, between Oxford and Imperial steets, will be closed from Jan. 25 to Feb. 1, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority announced yesterday.

The closure of the boulevard on the Manila-bound westbound lane, from midnight to 5 a.m., will allow for the replacement of 11 escalators of the LRT-2 Cubao station.

The closure will allow the Department of Transportation’s private contractor to transfer the escalator units from a truck to the train station using a mobile crane.

Public and private vehicles bound for Manila are advised to turn right to Yale or Oxford street, turn right to Columbia street, turn left to Imperial or West Point Street then back to Aurora Boulevard.
