Celebrity chef held in drug sting

MANILA, Philippines — A celebrity chef and his companion were arrested during a drug sting in Pasig City, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) announced yesterday.

JL Cang, 35, was nabbed along with Francis Misa, 38.

PDEA chief Aaron Aquino said the suspects allegedly sold 2.05 grams of shabu worth P14,000 to a policeman who posed as a buyer.

Cang was a contestant in the reality musical show Celebrity Duets.

Aquino said around 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000 were recovered from the suspects.

Twenty drug suspects were apprehended by anti-narcotics agents in separate operations in Quezon City, Parañaque, Malabon and Navotas in the past two days.
