Pasig saves P9.7 million from giveaway calendars
MANILA, Philippines — The local government of Pasig saved almost P10 million in the printing costs of the city’s official calendars for this year.
Mayor Vico Sotto made the clarification over the weekend as he refuted claims that his office took kickbacks from the printing of the calendars.
According to social media posts, Sotto’s office paid P36.7 million for the calendars.
In response, Sotto said the city government, in fact, saved P9.7 million after paying only P4.9 million for the printing of calendars, bond papers with letterhead and calling cards.
He said the previous administration spent more than P14.5 million for the calendars last year.
Sotto slammed what he said were trolls being paid by his political opponents to smear his name by circulating fake news on social media.
Around 400,000 calendars will be distributed to Pasig City offices.
