Tenant shoots landlord in Sampaloc

MANILA, Philippines — A tenant shot dead his landlord in Sampaloc, Manila on Wednesday. 

Randy Azucena, 47, was feeding the roosters in his backyard along Don Quijote street when Jesus Napagal, 54, shot him in the right eye at around 7:30 a.m., according to EM/Sgt. Jonathan Bautista.

Napagal walked toward his house and even admitted killing his landlord after a neighbor told him that Azucena had been shot, Bautista added.

Napagal told police Azucena had been bullying him for some time, but Capt. Henry Navarro, Manila Police District’s homicide investigation chief, said no one could confirm the suspect’s allegation.  

Navarro said Napagal had been drinking heavily since New Year’s Eve and was still reeking of liquor when he shot the victim.
