DAGUPAN CITY, Philippines – The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources will release back to the sea today two hawksbill turtles recently recovered in the waters off Pangasinan.
Westly Rosario, city BFAR center chief, told The STAR yesterday that the turtles, weighing 15 and 20 kilos, were recovered off the coasts of this city and San Fabian.
“They had wounds... we treated and took care of them for six months,” Rosario said.
He said 10,000 juvenile ulang and 10,000 saline tilapia would also be released to the sea.
