MANILA, Philippines — The number coding traffic scheme for provincial buses will be lifted during the holiday season, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced yesterday.
The MMDA said the unified vehicular volume reduction program would be suspended from Dec. 23 to 31 and on Jan. 2 next year.
This is to allow public utility buses to accommodate more passengers traveling to the provinces for the holidays, the agency said.
The number coding is automatically suspended on Dec. 25 and 30 and Jan. 1 since these are regular holidays.
