Van hit by train in CamSur; 16 hurt

CAMARINES SUR, Philippines — Sixteen persons were injured when a UV Express van was hit by a train of the Philippine National Railways in Libmanan, Camarines Sur yesterday.

Injured were the driver of the van, Danilo Diokno, and his 15 passengers. They were taken to the Libmanan District Hospital for treatment.

Maj. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said the van was crossing the railtracks when the accident occurred in Barangay Camambugan at around 11:50 a.m.

The van was headed to Naga City, a police official said in a text message.
