MANILA, Philippines — Makati Mayor Abby Binay yesterday led the opening of the “Paskuhan Kubol” at the city hall quadrangle and assured the residents that the Christmas gift bags are ready for distribution.
“Yearly, we see to it that the distribution of gift bags will be done early December so that the residents can plan for their Noche Buena and make good use of the bags of goodies,” Binay said.
She said a total of 97,172 gift packs would be given to each household in the city’s 33 barangays.
Each bag contains a Makatizen shirt, cans of tuna, corned beef, luncheon meat, sausage, packs of spaghetti sauce and pasta, fruit cocktail, condensed milk and cheese.
The gifts will be distributed to the residents in selected barangays per district from Dec. 3 to 6. Christmas gift bags can be claimed at the city hall until Jan. 31, 2020.
The city government has started distributing Christmas goodies and yearend cash gifts to over 76,000 senior citizens.
Aside from over 9,000 local government employees, other beneficiaries of the project are 6,265 solo parents and families under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program.
Binay said they have allotted around 230,000 gift bags for this year’s Pamaskong Handog project.
