MANILA, Philippines — Two persons were killed by robbers who broke into a convenience store in Quezon City on Sunday night.
Reymund Dag-ay, 32, and Romeo Econal, 24, died at the East Avenue Medical Center.
Based on a police report, at least five assailants broke into the Express Lane minimart along Kapalaran road in Barangay Holy Spirit.
Witnesses said the suspects shot Dag-ay, the security guard, in the chest.
Econal, one of the store’s crew, tried to fight off the robbers. But he was shot in the head.
The suspects escaped empty-handed after they failed to open the cash box.
