MANILA, Philippines — Senior citizens and persons with disability (PWDs) will get to enjoy watching movies in 30 SM cinemas nationwide on Oct. 1 and 2, lawyer Romulo Macalintal said yesterday.
He said SM’s management granted his request for free movies for senior citizens and PWDs as part of the observance of Elderly Week from Oct. 1 to 7.
Based on a press statement of SM Cinema, senior citizens and PWDs may avail of free movies in regular cinemas at “any or all” of its 30 movie houses nationwide.
“Making the joy of watching movies inclusive has always been a thrust for SM Cinema. And SM Cinema is taking inspiration in how Filipino families bond by going to movies,” SM said.
SM added this is one of the company’s ways of “honoring” senior citizens and PWDs, “driven by its advocacy to cultivate positive change in society.”
